Singapore & Raffles

We had a fabulous time in Penang with Tim and Shauna. They were wonderful and generous hosts and showed us many things we would otherwise not have found on our own. After living there for only the last 18 months, we are impressed with how they have acclimated and know their way around.
On Wednesday we left Penang for Singapore. Our last stop before headed home (Yes, it was our first stop too).
A part of the view from our room at The Fairmont Hotel (Formerly Raffle's International--lesser cousin of Raffle's Hotel)
Our room directly overlooked the Raffle's Hotel compound.
Part of Long Bar at Raffle's. Long Bar is where the fruity cocktail The Singapore Sling was invented.
More of Long Bar. Note the fan paddles above. At one point in time, that was probably all there was for 'air conditioning' in this tropical local.
Pam enjoying a Singapore Sling, and eyeing Gene's ??
Peanut shells go on the floor. A tray of Satay (grilled beef and chicken on skewers with peanut sauce)
