Phuket, Thailand--Cashew Factory

Cashew apples have their seed harvested, broken open by hand, and the nut retrieved. Juice is made of the apples. The shells and skins kept for feed. Average production is about 15 kilo's per day, paid at about $3.00 U.S.
Cashew tree, with an apple, the small red fruit in middle of photo. (Actually is a PLASTIC apple for the benefit of us tourists since they are out of season at the moment.)
Juvinile pineapple growing. This one is REAL! The pineapple over here beats our domestic fruit hands down. Much more sweet and tender.

I agree about the pineapple. I couldn't get enough when I was in Thailand.
