You may remember this region was devistated 2 years ago by the Tsunami. Patong Beach is what many of us saw videos of either on the news or the net. Of course, the Tsunami inundated many many other beaches and communities of the region, resulting in many many thousands killed. Rebuilding is occurring. In some instances renovation. In others, tear down and re-construct. For the most part, the first two floors of buildings are what were effected.
Scope out the Tsunami Warning instructions posted at the beach.

Wow,this must have been a bitter/sweet experience...to know what happened here and now to see the renenovations.
