Arizona High Country

Traveling from Grand Canyon back down to Phoenix, we took a VERY scenic route. After heading back up towards the Grand Canyon to get Matthew some buffalo jerky from a roadside vendor we had seen Friday, we ran Rt 180 down to Flagstaff. On the way to Flagstaff are the San Francisco Peaks, dominated by Humphreys Peak at 12,633 feet. Yes, that IS snow on the peak. The first of the season. On Friday, our guide, Marvelous Marv, informed us that was Indian Snow. Has nothing to do with the first snow after 70 degree weather in October.....he calls it Indian Snow because there is....wait, here it comes....apache here, apache there.
Booo. : )

From Flagstaff we ran route 89A through Prescott and to Sedona. What a route. So beautiful. Out of the San Francisco Peaks, down and around the mountain sides. Two lane road.

From Prescott to Sedona you run through Oak Creek Canyon.
Looking over our shoulders out the back of our convertible Mustang !!
