Take Me Out To The Ballgame!!

Tickets to Monday nights Cubs game became available. The SanFrancisco Giants were in town, sans Barry Bonds. Cubs pitcher Ryan Dempster had a good outing. Ryan "The Riot" Theriot hit a 3 run home run. Cubs won, 4 - 2.
You can see on top of the buildings outside the part raised bleachers. Private property owners have taken advantage of their proximity to Wrigley Field. Big bucks business. They were quite irritated on New Years Day when the Blackhawks hockey team erected temporary Jumbotrons for the Winter Classic (vs. the Red Wings) and had no view.

Outside of the 2nd oldest park in Major League Baseball. Opened up in 1914.

The old style manual scoreboard. There is an electronic baseboard at the bottom, but no great big electronic 'TV' for players faces and replays. Kind of miss that.
The outfield wall is still primarily covered in brown vine stems. The vine leaves are JUST starting to open in some places. That's why the outfield walls aren't the familiar ivy covered.
Grounds crew getting the field ready for play.

It's one of the advantages of working for Larry Freed, who has Cubs, Sox, Blackhawks and Bulls tickets. He (his assistant) shares REAL nicely!! We got to go to 6 hockey games, including a playoff game, been to a Sox game already, and now a Cubs game.
