Valentine's Weekend

We traveled to . . . . downtown Chicago for our Valentine's Weekend! Gene came downtown on the train Friday afternoon, I left work early and we checked into the Fairmont Hotel. This is the same hotel chain we stayed in when we were in Malaysia last year. Here is the view from our window on the 18th floor.

It was a lovely room and we relaxed a little while on Friday night watching night fall over the park. On Saturday morning we woke up to a light snowfall. It was fun to sit in the window and watch the city wake up. There was construction work being done on the building across the street. It was very interesting to watch and kept us entertained for quite a while.

They are lifting a huge pallet of materials from a flat bed truck to a very small platform. To give you some perspective each truck only held 3 pallets. It took all morning for them to unload 2 trucks (6 pallets).
